Karma is the belief in cause and effect on a spiritual level. Karma dictates that if you do good deeds, then good things will happen to you. It also means that if you do bad deeds, then bad things will happen to you.

Karma helps you to life a riotous life and to do things that you truly believe are good and just. Unlike a moral code, or a social code where you can sometimes do unjust things in the hope that you will “get away with it” and that nobody will know, with Karma you cannot do this. Karma does not rely on someone knowing or seeing what you do, Karma takes effect simply on what is. If you do something bad, then Karma will retaliate, there is no concept of knowing or finding out it simply happens.

This is a very powerful concept because it means doing what is right and just no matter what. It also opens up questions about what is right and wrong. If Karma comes from some higher power then it is not for any one person to judge whether an action will result in good or bad karma. I believe it is for the person carrying out the action to decide whether it is just or not. If you carry out an action then you know in your heart whether you have good or bad intentions, and whether or not that action is just. If it is, then you will likely receive good Karma in return, but if it is done with bad intentions then you will likely receive bad Karma.
